Criteria:
All initiatives must meet three crucial requirements:

1. Initiatives must benefit all stakeholders.
2. Collaboration between interdisciplinary stakeholders must occur.
3. Culturally-appropriate design and delivery must drive program development
and implementation.

The initial project will focus on the provision of clean water via the implementation of the Filtron, a ceramic filter that provides point of use water purification. While the Filtron has been tested in eleven countries, this will be the first interdisciplinary and sustainable replication model for this product. The Villa El Carmen region on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua is the target community for this pilot program.
